  23. Consider that the problem may just be the lousy phone lines between you
  24. and your provider, in combination with some esoteric modem 
  25. characteristics.

  27. I mailed a longer explanation to the original poster, who unfortunately
  28. placed some hapless victim's name in the Reply-To header.  I'm not going
  29. to write it out again.  Maybe he *is* nuts.
